Is being a whistleblower worth it? That’s an individual question that each individual person needs to answer for themselves. I will share my opinion with you – it absolutely is. I feel that whistleblowers play an important role in policing the workplace. Whistleblowers are in a unique position inside a company where their inside knowledge allows them to realize and uncover unlawful conduct that outsiders may not be able to see. This gives them a unique opportunity to stop unlawful conduct in the workplace and protect potential victims.

Whistleblowers have been responsible for stopping water contamination, unsafe manufacturing practices, the illegal promotion of prescription drugs, defrauding the government, and even bringing down a sitting president.
